Murder Investigation After Teenager Injured Outside Pub Dies

A murder investigation has been launched into the death of a teenager who was injured outside a pub.

Police were called at around 3.30am to The Hubb in Hucknall Road in Sherwood, Nottinghamshire where it is understood a party was being held.

A spokesman for the force said officers received reports that a gun had been fired.

No one was found injured at the scene but a short time later a 19-year-old man was admitted to Queen's Medical Centre with serious injuries, a Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said.

He died this afternoon as a result of his injuries. He has not yet been named and a Home Office post-mortem examination is to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

A cordon is in place at The Hubb while forensic examinations take place and Hucknall Road is closed from its junction with Haydn Road to its junction with Leonard Avenue.

Diversions are in place and the road is expected to remain closed for the majority of the day.

Detectives say they are keen to speak to anyone who attended the party or anyone with information about the incident. House-to-house enquiries are being carried out in the area.

Any witnesses are asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
