A one-of-a-kind white killer whale has been spotted by scientists - and they've named him ICEBERG.
It is believed to be the first known totally white member of the species and was seen swimming with a pod of 12 fellow orcas off the coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
The scientists were working for the Far East Russia Orca Project (FEROP), which is dedicated to researching and protecting orcas in the waters of Kamchatka and the Commander Islands.
FEROP co-director Erich Hoyd told CBC News: "In many ways, Iceberg is a symbol of all that is pure, wild and extraordinarily exciting about what is out there in the ocean waiting to be discovered.
"The challenge is to keep the ocean healthy so that such surprises are always possible."

Before the gun ho people go after this wonderful mammal they should look up the legions about a white Orca some times their is more to the old legions then we know, it is best some times just to let everything past you bye.

I thought that killer whales were on the CITES list of species that require specific licences and therefore have not been hunted since 1980.
The biology of this superb specimen will no doubt be an attraction to the marine scientists.
Like many others I am intrigued by the idea of an albino in this pod, but fear that it will become a 'Moby Dick' for the scientists.
My advice to the pod- Get away from Russia as soon as possible!

It's beautiful! What is amazing is the fact it's not cast out by the other whales, like humans would do. I just hope some jerking whaling ship doesn't try to catch it. Wouldn't surprise me. It's existance should have been kept a secret.
