Everton Star Steven Pienaar Subject Of Arrest Warrant After Failure To Appear In Court For Speeding

Arrest Warrant Issued For Pienaar

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Everton's on-loan winger Steven Pienaar.

The South African, whose parent club is Tottenham, failed to appear in court to answer driving charges.

Pienaar, 30, is wanted in court after his Aston Martin DBS has been caught speeding twice on the same road in the space of 11 days.

His failure to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court was compounded by not informing authorities of who was driving the vehicle.

The Aston was caught speeding at 43mph and 38mph in a 30mph zone in Chigwell, Essex, on October 10 and 21 2011, the court was told.

Each offence carries a maximum six points, which could lead to a possible driving ban for the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

In March 2010, Pienaar was given a 12-month ban from the roads after he was caught drink-driving by police, having skipped a red light. He was discovered to be almost twice the legal limit.

On Sunday, Pienaar scored the final goal of Everton's 4-4 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
