Bee Gee's Robin Gibb Vows To Return To Work Just Days After Waking Up From Coma

Bee Gees' Robin Gibb To Return To Work After Coma?

Just days after he woke from a coma, ailing Bee Gees star Robin Gibb has vowed to return to work.

The star slipped into a coma after being struck down with pneumonia, just weeks after announcing his colon and liver cancer had gone into remission.

Robin regained consciousness after friends and family kept a bedside vigil and sang along to his favourite tunes.

And a positive Robin is racing to regain his strength and get back on the stage.

The star, who is now breathing with an oxygen mask and is able to have full conversations, stunned doctors with his recovery.

Dr Andrew Thillainayagam, of Imperial College, London, said: "The prognosis was very grave. We felt it was very likely Robin would succumb to what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles.

"It is testament to Robin's extraordinary courage, iron will and deep reserves of physical strength that he has overcome quite incredible odds."

The brave singer's wife Dwina has been at his bedside throughout his hellish health ordeal.

A friend of the couple recently told The Mirror: "Dwina has been incredible. She has been such a rock of support for everyone and is just so, so strong, remains upbeat and is just willing Robin on and on. She will never give up - just like Robin's attitude throughout all his recent health problems. The pair share that same fighting mentality."
