This isn't a bizarre stunt or a prank for a Chinese sketch show, the video above captures the moment a woman walking along a pavement in Xi'an, China, became trapped metres below the surface as the pavement she steps on collapses.
Fortunately, a passing-by taxi quickly stops and comes to her aid, before she is eventually rescued by the local fire brigade.
Despite falling quite a distance, the pedestrian appeared to be unharmed.
She was capable of climbing up a ladder and standing on her own feet without assistance.
This accident came only weeks after another Chinese citizen fell through collapsing pavement, which resulted in her receiving severe scalding, which threatened her life, suffering multiple organ failure and requiring dialysis to survive.
Fortunately, in this case, the Chinese citizen emerged unscathed.
