Get The Look: Ore-Inspired Skin

When it comes to Spring/Summer beauty, sun-kissed skin is the signature look and so it's no surprise that the golden glow was the biggest trend on the S/S 2012 catwalks.

While skin was tanned, it was also glowing, with ore-inspired highlighters and bronzers adding a subtle sheen on cheekbones and eyelids.

Speaking about the season's beauty trends, Terry Barber, Mac's Director of Artistry, referenced the "reflective, 3D skin worn with fuller brows" at Sass & Bide, Hussein Chalayan and Just Cavalli's Spring shows.

However, this doesn't mean we should be caking on the fake tan. Barber described the look as "liquid and lightweight, with warm shades and no mascara".

So how does this trend translate from the catwalk? We aksed Illamasqua's Key Artist, Mika Johnson.

"For a sun kissed glow, mix Skin Base in AU with your regular moisturiser. Then define features by applying Bronzing Duo to temples, cheekbones and softly over the chin for a bronzed, sculpted siren look".
