Texas Rangers Baseball Fans Keep Foul Ball From Crying Child (VIDEO)

When a foul ball flies into the crowds at a baseball game, it's an unwritten rule that the nearest young person gets it, right?

Wrong, alas. It seems that if you're near the ball, all rules are off and it's whoever can get their hands on it that walks home with spherical leather throwable thing.

Just take a look at this video above, where a child ends up in tears while a happy couple keep the ball. For shame, for shame!

At least there's a nice ending, as a kind Texas Rangers representive throws the family another ball to keep the little 'un happy.

And just for a laugh, here's our tried-and-true dancing on the jumbotron video gallery. Can't not love this, eh?

In the UK we give the ball back so that play can continue.
If the child needs a souvenir -buy a programme!

The couple seemed to be so full of themselves. They paid attention to everyone but the little boy. Selfishness will catch up with these 2 - we sure would not want to hope their bad karma spoils their wedding. Rain is in the forecast. Hmmmm????

Obviously you did not see the Today show where the mother and father of the child disputed what the media portrayed. They said the couple did offer the boy the ball, but they turned it down because they did not feel it is right to just give the child whatever he wants just because he is a child.

No I did not see the Today Show. I saw what the NY Yankee announcer saw and stand by my statement. It would not surprise me if the kid is a brat.

Baseball fans are vicious when a ball comes in the stands but yeah it's fair game like that- in the NFL they'll hand the football to the kid. The outfielder, if he was giving it to the kid, should have taken 3 extra steps and made his intentions known.

That's the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time.

I have 5 sons - and I can tell you, at 3/4 years old, that little guy had forgotten all about that ball by the time the game was over. To have handled the ball over to the child was basically giving it to his baseball fan Dad.

Trying to make that couple feel bad is ridiculous.
