Zerg Rush Destroys Google

Zerg Rush Destroys Google

Google has released a classic Friday timewaster for 27 April.

The search giant's latest "easter egg" destroys the Google homepage and all search results when you type in the words "zerg rush".

Enter the phrase into the Google search box and you get not only the relevant search results, but also a swarm of Os from Google's logo which destroy all the search results.

What the devil is Zerg Rush, you may ask? Starcraft is a game from Blizzard Entertainment, that pits you in a desperate bid to stop the zerg swarm from overrunning the Koprulu sector. Got it?

In the Google version, you have to fight them off with your trusty mouse. You can share your score on Google+, if you have an account.

We tried typing Zerg rush into most browsers, and the erg rush worked in all. We even typed it into Bing, with some pretty high up search results from their competitor.
