Hull City Suspend Manager Nick Barmby Over Comments Made To Media

Barmby Suspended By Tigers?

Hull City have suspended manager Nick Barmby over comments he made to the media, according to reports.

Barmby was trending on Twitter in the UK on Monday as no official confirmation was made by his hometown club.

The Tigers' top headline on their website as Barmby's name was trending was "We Needed To Believe More", which was in reference to the coach's quotes following the weekend loss to West Ham.

Hull lost 2-1 at West Ham on Saturday in their final game of the season, finishing eighth in the table and seven points outside of the play-off places.

After the match he candidly spoke with BBC Radio Humberside about his aspirations for the club in the future, as they seek to return to the Premier League.

"I want this club to be pushing because, if we push, we get better, standards get higher and this club needs to be in and amongst the teams pushing for promotion," he said.

"Everything's got to be right, we've said things and we've got to back them up, including me."

The 38-year-old was appointed caretaker coach after Nigel Pearson left the club for Leicester City in November 2011, before he announced his retirement from playing January this year prior to his appointment as manager on a full-time basis.
