'The Voice' Judge Will.I.Am 'Blasted For Texting Live On Air'

Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am has reportedly been warned by television bosses for sending text messages and tweets during a live broadcast of The Voice.

The rapper smuggled his phone into the studio on Saturday and producers are said to have screamed into his earpiece telling him to stop using the device as he risked being spotted by the show's 9.3m viewers.

However, the star allegedly ignored bosses and continued to send messages during the show.

And Will was given a dressing down by the programme's floor manager who claimed he was "rude" and "unprofessional".

The star later apologised to fans, some of whom thought he was ignoring the performers.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Thank you everyone who watched #thevoiceuk tonight...if you saw me on my phone I wasn't being rude...I was connecting to people watching."

Will's involvement in the programme has already caused controversy - he was recently criticised for the amount of time he spent with his acts.

The star allegedly saw his singers for just 30 minutes last week before jetting off to the US.
However, the musician insists he prefers to chat with and guide the performers rather than rehearse with them.

Try watching the Voice from America already on Series 2, Judges Cee LO Green, Adam Levine, Christine Aguilara, and Blake Shelton, Series 2 now reached program 16, very exciting and slick, compared to the UK version,

Will i am not, disrespected the show and his team members by appearing to do something more important than watch and listen to his own team!!!! I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw him texting. If I had been the floor manager I would have confiscated his toy gadget until the end of the live transmission, superstar or no superstar. If he dosnt want to be treated like a child then he should behave like the 40years that he is! I dont care how important he might be, he is here for the team members not himself If he cant commit to the show then he should step down. Finally could he not hire a PA to take messages. He IS pure and simply out of order!!!!

Completely agree. He cannot just say he was connecting with those watching, that's not the job he is being paid for, he is supposed to be connecting with those performing! He is the one who gets to make a decision as to who stays & who goes, but I get the feeling he made up his mind at the audition stage & he will save Jaz everytime, Jaz is the only contestant he is really interested in. Will.is.not sufficiently qualified for this job & was a poor choice.

I wouldn't blame Will.i.am for texting. Im guessing he was bored. I tuned into the show for about fifteen minutes before turning over the channel. The quality of the singing was average at best, I have seen many club singers that have more talent than the people on this show.

I had high hopes for this show. Given that people are given a chance not based on looks. But this format is boring, and the judges are completely the main reason for it. William comes across as aloof so not surprised to read this at all. I gave it a few shows but have now completely lost interest, I doubt this will last another season.

will.i.am was bored. now his seat dosn't turn round he's lost interest and is fed up of losing people he saw as having talent. he does like to keep it real and if on twitter is making his feelings known.

the voice is just another gimmick show. perhaps when those who didn't win turn up on x factor we may get to see them have a chance. interesting if the winner gets a huge lift up into the music business.

I buy but unlike yourself i choose what to buy not have talentless junk forced on me by Cowell and co. Turn the telly off and get out to see a few bands , there are some crackers out there and no miming , just good live music, as it should be
