Of all the fantastic musicians this country has produced we have Duran bloody Duran on a stage that should be graced by the greats, what a disgrace.
It should have been Pink Floyd or the Who or Zep , real bands not these namby pamby popsters.
At least they kept Cowells dross away from the gig

Burning their records in the Olympic flame would work better, save on gas!

09:40 on 02/05/2012
where did they dig that lot up . why not use the new up & coming , from ;- B G T ,THE VOICE , X FACTER , at least they can perform LIVE.
09:58 on 02/05/2012
"Dig this lot up" is about right. I should have thought Duran Duran would be on zimmer frames by now !
13:57 on 04/05/2012
Because the new up & coming , from ;- B G T ,THE VOICE , X FACTER are all talentless no hopers who wouldnt know which way to hold an instrument never mind play it live.

Dear God. I note that this concert only "coincides" with the opening ceremony, so sholdnlt be confused with it. I can only hope that the actual ceremony has a more impressive line up (which isn't to say that they didn't do a couple of quite good songs bakc in the early '80s).

It is a concert. It coincides with the start of the olympics.
It is British talent at it's best???
Or should I say BT talent at it's best.

Talk about scrape the barrel for a band.

OMG! How embarrassing. To think Italy had Andrea Bocelli singing , Because we Believe and America had Whitney sing , One moment in Time .Both magnificent songs , wonderfully sung.

And this is what we deliver!
