It's relatively simple, really...

The internet is anonymous, comments' pages seek opinion and are fuelled by contraversy..

Many men simply take the opportunity of saying what they really think - deep down; often in the most disrespectful, offensive & derogatory fashion, rather than behaving in a civilised manner towards women.

It's the same argument with drunks:
You get boring, rude, offensive, violent drunks, and you get drunks who get more funny, less boring, rarely rude, never offensive and not violent.

The internet provides the ideal medium for such people to be as offensive as they really are without any social condemnation or censure - opportunity fosters contempt, in this instance.

...and, no, I'm not female... but isn't it about time for these men to simply grow up and act like sentient beings towards women..??

I think so... but not holding my breath for change any time soon...

This whole equality rubbish needs to be blown out of the water.

If women experienced even half the ridiculing men experience through advertising, the media and on TV programmes they would be suing, right left and centre!

I see much more mysandry than mysogeny and make it a point to treat women as equals i.e. letting them open doors and stand on the bus(unless of course they are old or pregnant)...

There isn't really.

People just like to try to be funny online.
Often it doesn't work.

Being funny often doesn't work, especially when it targets minorities.
