Dita Von Teese isn't one to shy away from showing a little skin (she is a burlesque performer, after all), but last night she stepped away from her tried-and-tested red carpet formula of the plunging liquid gown in favour of a new silhouette: the sexy cut-away dress.

Von Teese turned heads as she attended the Duftstars 2012 perfume awards in Berlin, wearing a striking Jean-Paul Gaultier couture dress with provocative chest, back and waist cut-outs.
The burlesque star, who launched her eponymous perfume in London this week, tweeted: "Hmmmm...Wearing quite a risqué @JPGaultier gown tonight to the perfume awards in Berlin. This might require a merkin."
And not everyone was satisfied with the amount of skin on display, according to Dita. "Some photographer still had the audacity to tell me to 'show some leg,'" she wrote on Twitter.
