The Guardian called it "bold, imaginative, original, and dead funny" and Metro says they could "save the British comedy duo". Yes, welcome to what may well be the best new comedy sketch show to come out of Britain since The Fast Show: Cardinal Burns.
Cardinal Burns are Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns. Previously, they were two-thirds of sketch trio Fat Tongue (whose third member, Sophie Black, is responsible for the marvellous Single White Feline). Now, they're the purveyors of a wonderfully written and terrifically acted sketch show that kicked off on E4 last night.
You can watch the episode in full on 4oD here. But for now, we've picked out our favourite sketch, above, which introduces us to a terrible office flirt and his new sexy rival - two characters who are surely destined to become cult classics.
Other highlights from the first episode included Banksy being portrayed as a boring middle-aged man who lives in the suburbs and buys his paints in Homebase, and an auditioning actor being put through his paces by a ridiculous advertising director - both of which are included in our round-up of Cardinal Burns/Fat Tongue sketches on YouTube, below:
