Facebook is launching its own app store, or app centre, where Facebook users can pick their favourite apps from the mass that are available on the social network.
Both Apple and Android already organise their apps into "stores", Apple's is simply called the app store while Android has the marketplace.
The new feature will roll out in the coming weeks, and will launch with Draw Something, Pinterest, Spotify, Battle Pirates, Viddy, and Bubble Witch Saga, according to the Facebook blog.
Any app that uses Facebook in some way, such as to log-in, will be featured in the app store. Apps will have full descriptions and ratings, so users can truly understand whether they need them or not.
The new app centre is designed for users, so well-designed apps that the majority of Facebook users rate highly, will be featured. Shoddy apps with poor user ratings will not be listed.
The app centre will be more of a gallery of apps, than an app store rival. It will connect your through to the app store or Google Play if the app you're interested in needs to be downloaded.
