Dannii Minogue: Being A Mum Is More Important Than My Career

PA

Newly-separated mum-of-one Dannii Minogue has said she is putting her son before her career and ruling out a return to music.

Dannii, 40, who recently split from Kris Smith, father of her two-year-old son, Ethan, said her priority now is being a mum.

Speaking to The Sun, Dannii revealed: "I guess my world is about making time for being a mum and not missing out on special time with Ethan. Every week there are new things. He is changing every day."

Dannii announced her split from Ethan's dad in April, writing on Twitter: 'It brings me great sadness to tell you that Kris & I have separated. We still care for each other & ask for privacy at this difficult time, in particular for our son Ethan who remains our number one priority.'

Since becoming a single mum, Dannii says she spends her days doing normal things and does not have a nanny for Ethan:

"I work one day a week on Australia's Got Talent. I've got a couple of extra things with this and some interviews and that's it. The rest is doing the crèche run and looking after Ethan," she said, adding that if she returned to music it would be a 'different trip': "You can't do everything. You choose a couple of important things and the rest is mum time."

The devoted mum says she is 'loving' her time with her little boy and does not 'want to miss out' on his early years: "That's important to me," she said.

Hmmm, sounds like those rumours of an X-Factor return were all stuff and nonsense then?

Do you think Dannii is doing the right thing? Or is it perfectly possible to have a career and bring your children up?
