When, back in 1996, photographer Lorenzo Agius went to shoot some relatively unknown actors making a film called Trainspotting, he couldn’t have know he was about to create some of the most iconic images of the decade.
Not that anything about that day or his subsequent success could be considered a fluke. After the shoot - which featured Ewan McGregor (as Mark Renton) staring in a state of shock directly into the camera, seemingly wet, with a ciggerette dangling from his mouth – made Agius’ name, he went on the capture the spirit of the 90s in new ways.
In 1997 came the famous shot of Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit draped in a Union Jack that would not only grace the cover of Vanity Fair, but capture the essence of Cool Britannia - a concept that may make us cringe now but at the time felt, well, cool.
From that point onwards Agius’ career shot off further and further into celebrity orbit, as he added the world’s biggest stars to his roster – Angelina, Brad, Beyonce, Madonna and just about everyone else in the world you need only refer to by their first name (though no Boris, sadly).

Full of his trademark energy and humour, the collection shows off Agius’ gift for getting the rich and the famous to not take themselves too seriously.
