Met Police Officer Dies From Gunshot Wounds

A Metropolitan Police officer has died at a police station after suffering gunshot wounds.

The officer, aged in his 30s, was serving within the Aviation Security Command at London City Airport when he was found injured at North Woolwich police station in east London on Sunday afternoon, police said.

London Ambulance Service attended but he was pronounced dead just after 2.50pm.

The force is not seeking anyone else in connection with the death of the Pc, who has yet to be formally identified.

His next of kin have been informed and a report is being prepared for the coroner by officers from the Directorate of Professional Standards, the Met said.
