Andy Gray And Richard Keys, Disgraced Former Sky Commentators, Win Sony Award For talkSPORT Show

The careers of commentators Andy Gray and Richard Keys appeared to be over after their sacking from Sky over sexist remarks caught on camera, but the duo walked away from Monday night's Sony Radio Academy Awards with a prize for their talkSPORT radio show.

The pair won best sports programme of the year at the awards, which are the premier radio accolades in the UK.

TalkSPORT hired Gray and Keys in February 2011, a month after they were fired from Sky Sports for a series of comments about the ability of referee's assistant Sian Massey> and current West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady.

Following the furore, the two apologised for their actions, regretting what they said.

Despite a wildly unpopular, and later aborted, attempt at a comeback tour "Smash It!", the two have crafted a show that was praised by the judges as "must-listen for serious sports fans", with "knowledge and professionalism second to none".

when they were caught out they were just 2 blokes having a laugh,this is nothing more than what happens at the pub,it was blown way out of proportion by the media.
but an award?
seriously they know no more about football than my grandma and talk total rubbish

well done to them but I am so glad I dont have to listen to andy gray on sky anymore- he talked over everyone all the time and told you what was happenning - when you were watching it! he is better off on radio

Fair play to them-they did a good job on Sky overall and said a couple of things which was out of order but blown up out of all proportion.

Nice one Ivor, spot on fella .What are women doing in mens football anyway?? There's womens games for them to go and get involved in, go play in your own legue!!. Just leave us blokes alone to get on with the few good things we have left without women busying themselves in our stuff (always, just got to stick your oars in!!).... Just leave us alone!!

Don't forget it wasn't just having a go at a linewoman, Andy Gray was also shown on camera making lewd remarks to a female presenter amongst other things that didn't go down too well with his colleagues at the time.

hartillbrian, I hope you are not implying that there should be no sanctions for unacceptable disgraceful, primitive behaviour. What is more, they had got it wrong and the assistant referee had got it right as the replay demonstrated.
So, at least they were incompetent.
