Yellow Lamborghini Crashes In An Epic Fashion, Creates Car Sandwich (VIDEO)

Huffington Post UK  |  By Posted: Updated: 16/05/2012 11:26

Ever seen a car sandwich? Ever seen a car sandwich with a Lamborghini filling? Well, now's your chance, you lucky thing.

The scene took place at a crossroads in a Chicago suburb, where YouTuber 'DrCinadr' was recording a really rather flashy Lamborghini Gallardo in front of him with his mobile phone.

Then, showing off to the world at large, the driver inside said Lamborghini attempts a slick turn, and instead loses control as he makes a left, spinning off onto the other side of the road and inbetween two other, less expensive cars.

In other words, prepare to witness $225,000 (£141,000) worth of car suddenly become liable for a whole heap of insurance payouts.

And for more extraordinary footage shot from a car dashboard, check out our dashcam video gallery - but be warned, there's a whole lot of crashing going on over here. Seriously, piles of the stuff.

Too much power (the least powerful Gallardo pumps 550hp and 540 newton-metres of torque through the rear wheels) on one of those surfaces that doesn't encourage grip and the result was oversteer once the amount of twisty forces going through back axle were in excess of the adhesion of the tyres on that surface.

Now the question is whether he did anything stupid like turning off any of the car's stability controls and/or was he driving like a hoon with no temperature in the tyres.

Either way, he won't make that mistake again and he's lucky he wasn't doing that in a mid-Seventies 911 somewhere more rural or they'd be scraping him off a tree with a trowel.

One of the problems with modern cars from an M3/RS4 to many of the supercars is that they put all sorts of stuff in there to stop you hurting yourself which a) disconnects you from a lot of the feedback and b) makes you take risks you would never have taken in a Miura, a 911 without all the trick-electronics or any Sixties/Seventies muscle-car.

Combine that with over-confidence and poor impulse control and you're a good way down the road to an embarrassing insurance accident report and a visit to A&E.

Why would you glout over somebody else's misfortune? If I see your car upside down with you and your friends on fire inside I'll do a U-turn & break out the marsh mellows along with a good old Ging Gang Goolie!

I get the impression there wasn't a great deal of personal injury in this accident. The only thing hurt would appear to be the drivers pride.

Personally, I get pleasure out of seeing a dipstick driving a car that is far too powerful for him to handle coming a cropper.

Some may consider me to be in the wrong in that, maybe I am. I do feel for the other two drivers though, more victims of an idiotic driver and the insurers just put another 1% on their policy renewals, so you'll have to forgive my lack of empathy for the lamborgini driver.

schadenfreude (n): enjoyment obtained from the troubles of others

It is acceptable in this case as there was no notable injury or threat to life. This was essentially a guy lacking in the loins showing off and getting his just deserts. I do feel bad for the other two drivers who he hit.

I suspect if they guy drove like a normal, rational human being, not showing off, and not speeding off the line, and got hit that the commentators would have shown concern and empathy toward the driver.

Lesson: don't expect sympathy if you're showing off and endangering other people.

Not something you see everyday, but nothing to write home about!
