Adele Finds Invitation To Headline At Glastonbury 'Too Daunting', Reveals Festival Boss Michael Eavis

What Does Adele Find 'Too Daunting'?

Adele may be the record-breaking winner of Grammys, Brits and now Ivor Novello Awards, but there's one thing the London girl can't bring herself to do, it appears.

Glastonbury Festival boss Michael Eavis tried to convince Adele to headline the event when it returns from hiatus next year, but the superstar found the prospect too "daunting".

Eavis has turned the three-day extravaganza into one of the UK's biggest music events since its launch in 1971, attracting superstars including Sir Paul McCartney, U2 and Jay-Z to play for fans.

He was eager to land current chart phenomenon Adele to headline next year's final night, but despite her success, the singer was too nervous about performing for such a huge crowd.

Eavis tells Britain's Metro, "She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do a thing our size. Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it's a bit much really."

Eavis adds that the Rolling in the Deep star will still be present at the festival - but only as a reveller.

He says, "She comes every year usually, and has her own little party."
