David Cameron Would Win Olympic Gold In ‘Chillaxing', According To New Biography Of PM

PA/The Huffington Post UK  |  Posted: Updated: 19/05/2012 12:59

Were ‘chillaxing’ to be made an Olympic sport, then David Cameron would be a dead cert for the gold medal, according to a new book.

Cameron: Practically a Conservative – written by journalists Frances Elliott and James Hanning - quotes an ally of the PM as saying: "If there was an Olympic gold medal for 'chillaxing', the Prime Minister would win it. He is capable of switching off in a way that almost no other politician I know of can."

The Conservative leader's ability to unwind and relax away from Whitehall is a key part of how he copes with the strains of the top job, the book says.

In a snapshot of Cameron's personal life, it reveals how he soothes the strenuous rigours of running the country by playing tennis against a machine nicknamed "the Clegger" and having a few glasses of wine with Sunday lunch.

The Prime Minister also enjoys a game of snooker while relaxing at the countryside retreat of Chequers and even has fun on his family's karaoke machine, according to the book, which is being serialised in The Times.

Describing Cameron's Sunday routine, the biography reveals how he checks the morning papers and internet and deals with any work-related queries before relaxing either in front of the television, on the vegetable patch, on the tennis court or with his children.

"He doesn't go back to obsessively checking the computer or rewriting the speech," the book says.

Other revelations include claims that Cameron has an "almost obsessive interest in the raw data of politics" and is a frequent visitor to political betting websites to keep up to date with the latest debates on polling methodology.

He can relax that way because he has no moral concience. The policy changes that he has made would keep most normal people awake at night worrying. His silver spoon upbringing and life allows him to enjoy his comfy life with no feelings for the people of the UK.

Thats rich coming from someone who is constantly banging on about people working hard to earn their living. Wanting people to go out to work all the time when there are not enough jobs to go to. If you are as rich as he is though I guess you would not have to work at all.

If I was so out of touch and didn't give a toss about the people under my supposed 'care' as Cameron, I'd be supreme at "chillaxing" too...

If he doesn't know what 'LOL' stands for, I'm certain he would have trouble with 'chillaxing'.

I might be able to 'chillax' if I too had no worries about what my financial future may hold, but because of government policies...

Is ‘Chillaxing' Old Etonian speak for what the rest of us describe as "Completely out of touch with reality ?

I fully agree with the point that Camoron "Switches - Off", because he is completely Selectively DEAF when it come to being told by just about everyone, that is going directly in the the WRONG direction with his Planned "A"usterity measures.

Otherwise, with his failed Policies he has yet to engage ANY confident by being able to SWITCH ANYONE ON.

So by giving any Gold - Medal's to Camoron, then afterwards it would require some additional Rounds of Dope - Testing, to find out who supported him at the last General Election.
