Ed Miliband

Ed Miliband's personal rating has overtaken David Cameron's for the first time, according to a poll on Sunday.

Research by ComRes for the Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror found the approval score for the Prime Minister had slumped by seven points since last month.

By contrast, the Labour leader's had increased by 12.

Overall Miliband's party was on 41%, with the Tories on 32% and Liberal Democrats 11%.

Some 26% of those surveyed agreed that Mr Cameron was turning out to be good premier, down three points from April 22.

But 54% said the opposite - giving him a net rating of minus 28.

Miliband's score improved to minus 19, as his approval rose eight points to 26% while 45% thought he was doing a bad job.

The Tories and Labour were deadlocked on who was most trusted to run the economy, both receiving a rating of minus 29.

ComRes interviewed 2,038 adults online on May 16-17, it said.

Are the voting public really that thick?

Any growth in Millibland's popularity in the polls is not because of his leadership BUT despite of his leadership.

its about time the old 3 parties were routed out and give other parties a go my bets would be on ukip at least farage has the guts to stand up to the eurocrats so folks give them a chance they could not do any worse than the plonkers in power now

He is ahead on "gurning" NOT the political leadership ratings! All we get from him is that everyone else is doing it wrong yet he was part of the bunch who were at the root of all Britains borrowing in the first place. The benefits society where the less well off depend almost entirely on the state and not on hard work!

You know you are in trouble when a pre pubescent weakling with nothing to offer overtakes you in the polls.

There it is,, the old boring two horse race of the predictables, and the apathetic people keep betting on one or the other, in the hope either will clean up the country which they all messed up. there is nobody else to blame in the equation.. Throw another hat into the ring, there are thoroughbreds waiting in the wings to do what they cannot, and they know it, and will do all they can to scupper any new ideas which they know will work. The predicatble are so embraced with the EU, they don't want it changed by anyone, no matter what the people want..Here are the logical facts to considre before you vote for any of the predictables.......

How many 'natural' Conservatives are away on holiday and therefore unable to take part in this poll? I bet there were a lot more Conservatives than Labour supporters who were absent

"ComRes interviewed 2,038 people"..........about the average UK turnout for elections.....

The BIGGEST problem is that the vast majority of UK voters have been turned off all 3 political parties after having seen each in turn, lie, cheat, defraud and discriminate AGAINST the majority of its citizens once in power.

The UK public are NOT fools. We have no requirement to choose the "best of the worst" that are plonked down in front of us; hence stupid results like this are thrown up.

Unless REAL action is taken to defend, uphold and improve this Nation for and on behalf of those who PAY for its current and future needs for 30, 40 or 50 years through taxation; then we shall see fewer and fewer voting and the rise of the "extreme" political groups.

Milliband has built support despite a hostile media (although they seem distracted lately)

Who with?.Just because people dispise call me dave doesn't mean people support Millieband.
As long as people like Ed (who will pay me)Balls and Alan(boo whoo i lost my power)Johson are around then Labour is not a credible party.
An ex-Nazi is one of their members. My bad i thought Labour was supposed to be left of center.Ba Humbug and a pox on both their right wing houses.

Just shows what the population think of the Conservatives and Lib Dems. No mention where Clegg is on the chart?
10:32 AM on 05/20/2012
I hope Labour sweep away the other right wingers and restore faith of the common man that they have always stood for.

Trouble is can we trust them to do that? Politics appears to make liars of all of them, shame there isn't one who will stand by what comes out of his mouth to get elected.

Now come on, how many chances do you give either of the predictable 3. How many years have they all promised change with their pre election lies, and they all renege on any promise made. Time is essential for change, the predictables are too tied up with their governors in the pathetic EU. All they will do is deliver more lying forecasts to say, how vital it is we remain part of that useless union, for them yes, for the people and country, never in a Million years, and you all know it.....

What? Labour supporting the common man where were you during the 13 years of mismanagement by Bliar ?
02:15 PM on 05/20/2012
They had a very successful reign overall and did a lot for the country. It can safely be said that they have done better than the Tories before and after Labour were in power for that period.
03:27 PM on 05/20/2012
under 13 years (10 actually) of Blair the average person was infinitely better off than at anytime under 18 years of Tory mismanagement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same old, same old. Since it's Brussels that governs the Country anyway, what does it matter.
The indigenous UK population are completely fed up with seeing their Country being laughed at because of the Human Rights legislation. Nobody wants extremists and foreign criminals in our Country but that is what we have to put up with because 'Brussels' says so.
I do not feel that I should have to pay taxes to fund the expensive upkeep of these people just because they got here illegaly and then are protected by crazy laws that nobody in their right mind agrees with. Time for change.
09:42 AM on 05/20/2012
I don't think it will make the slightest bit of difference who wins the next election. The 3 main parties are all the same these days. We need a change. UKIP!
