Brad Pitt has touched down at Cannes Film Festival to promote his latest film Killing Them Softly and has - just like last year - caused a furore.
Stopping to sign autographs for his adoring female fans, the Hollywood heartthrob then posed for photographs before attending a press conference for the film, described by one Forbes' reviewer as a violent "thinking man’s crime story."
Killing Them Softly - directed by Andrew Dominik, who Pitt last worked with on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - is a contemporary tale of an enforcer (Pitt) charged with hunting down the thieves who robbed a mobbed-up poker game. It also stars Richard Jenkins, Ray Liotta, James Gandolfini, and Sam Shepard.

In life, some things are worth waiting for. Case in point: the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal novel, On the Road. Purists will be elated, as the film honors Jack Kerouac and is true to his book.
The rain might still be here but there are no damp spirits in Cannes. It could be because Hollywood golden boy Brad Pitt has arrived in town. On the subject of his personal life, he said that Angelina Jolie is not here in Cannes with him as she's prepping for a new role and that rumours of an August wedding are false. "There's no date been set."
John Hillcoat's new film, Lawless, premiered at Cannes this week, with a star cast including Shia Labeouf, Jessica Chastain and Tom Hardy, and co-written by Nicolas Cage, the director's longtime friend and collaborator in Australia.
I never thought I would have Isabelle Huppert burn-out, considering she is a favorite actress, but Hong Sangsoo's new film In Another Country , here at Cannes, drove me to the limit.
