Gary Barlow's Cannibal Attack Terror: Take That Star Feared He Was For The Pot

Gary Barlow's Cannibal Attack Terror

Take That star Gary Barlow will never forget the moment he feared he was was going to be eaten by spear-wielding cannibals on his recent trip around the world.

The singer journeyed across the Commonwealth to find music talent to contribute to the official Diamond Jubilee song Sing, and on one of his jaunts, he found himself in the Solomon islands where he was ambushed by a group of men carrying spears and wearing necklaces decorated with teeth.

Gary told The Sun: "We were all white men and there were only eight of us. I really did think, 'They've taken us all this way up the river and they could kill us and eat us alive and no one would know'."

Luckily, Gary was spared and he was allowed to carry on with his talent search.

He has also been given the job of overseeing the upcoming Jubilee concert, prompting speculation he will be in line for a knighthood.

However, Gary doesn't think he will become Sir Barlow any time soon, telling The Mirror: "I feel a bit young, if I am honest. I don't wake up every morning thinking about that, I just want to do good stuff. When they asked me to be involved in the Jubilee concert I knew what I could do to change it, to make it feel like a new concert.

"When they asked me to do the record I knew I could have an effect on how it would feel. As long as I feel I could bring something to a worthwhile project, then I am always willing to be involved."
