BAFTA: Borgen Beats The Killing To International Award

It was a battle of the Danes at this year's TV BAFTAs, with Borgen emerging triumphant to steal the International Award out from under the nose of its compatriot.

The second series of fellow Nordic hit The Killing 2 was also nominated in the strong field, which included US sitcom Modern Family, and Australian drama The Slap.

Borgen star Sidse Babett Knuden stood out from the crowd at the TV BAFTAs in London

Star of Borgen Sidse Babett Knuden was at the ceremony held in London's Royal Festival Hall, stunning in an electric pink dress.

Show creator Adam Price, who accepted the award on behalf of the team, called her "the sexiest prime minister I've ever laid eyes on."

He also paid tribute to The Killing, which, he said, "paved the way for Danish drama".
