Diamond Jubilee: 'The Sims' Pays Tribute To The Queen... And Pippa (VIDEO)

The Sims Pays Tribute To The Queen... And Pippa

The Sims, EA's venerable series of life-simulation video games, hasn't quite been around as long as Queen Elizabeth II (even if it does feel like it).

So it seems entirely natural that the game's makers - and marketing department - have released a tribute to the Royal Family ahead of the weekend's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The clip features many of the elements we know and suspect about the Royals, from waving at crowds to the paparazzi and champagne parties.

All of the big-hitting royals are there, including the Queen herself, Prince Charles and Kate Middleton (still in her wedding dress).

There is also a ginger-haired chap in a pair of surfing shorts with a big six pack - we suspect it's supposed to be Prince Harry, but it's always possible one of the One Direction lads made it into the clip instead.

Pippa Middleton is in the parody video too, in whom the press photographers remain more interested than the sovereign.

The Sims franchise has sold more than 150m games since its launch in February 2000. Since its June 2009 launch, The Sims 3 alone has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide across multiple platforms.

According to EA, the clip (below) was made entirely using the game and its expansion packs.
