A man who was critically injured when he was attacked outside a mosque has died.
The 21-year-old suffered serious head injuries and had been on a life support machine since the incident in Small Heath, Birmingham on Friday.
He was pronounced dead at 3pm yesterday, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
A 15-year-old boy yesterday appeared at Birmingham Youth court in relation to the incident.
He was remanded in custody at a youth offenders' institute and will next appear in court on June 13.
Detective Chief Inspector Sab Johal, from West Midlands Police, said: "The 15-year-old has been in court facing a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
"We will be liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service to review the situation."
Two other men arrested on Friday night, aged 42 and 20, and also from Small Heath, have both been released on police bail until a date in July.
Police are still keen to hear from anyone with information about the incident or who witnessed a disturbance outside the Noor-Ul-Uloom mosque in Small Heath on Friday afternoon.
