Euro 2012: Psychic Llama 'Nicholas' Predicts England To Win

Psychic Llama Predicts England To Win Euro 2012

A match-predicting llama with form for guessing the winners of big football matches believes England will be crowned Euro 2012 champions.

Nicholas the llama started his run of correct predictions by guessing that Chelsea would beat Liverpool in the FA Cup Final at Wembley last month.

He continued by rightly guessing that Frank Lampard and his Chelsea team-mates would win the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

Nicholas has correctly predicted a run of recent results

Now he has predicted Roy Hodgson's men will triumph at Euro 2012 - after beating France and Sweden and losing to Ukraine in the group stages.

Keepers at Ashdown Llama Park in East Sussex believe Nicholas could rival famed tipster Paul the octopus who sprang to fame by forecasting the outcome of all seven Germany matches in the last World Cup.

For the group matches, balls representing England and their opponents were placed on top of sticks in front of Nicholas - and he knocked off who he thought would win game by game.

Then once England had got through the stage system, four balls were put in front of him representing the quarter-final, semi-final, runner-up and outright winner.

Against the odds of bookies, Nicholas picked out the Three Lions as overall winners.

Park owner Linda Johnson said: "At this point nothing would surprise us but I have to say his latest prediction did come as a bit of a shock.

"I think that most of the pundits have predicted England to beat Ukraine, but Nicholas isn't like most pundits. He's always had his own take on things and does things his own way.

"Here's hoping that he's right again and retains his 100% record, and that England go right through to the final."

Ms Johnson said: "There have also been calls for Nicholas to turn his predicting skills to the Olympics, but we'll have to wait and see how England get on before we ask him to do that."
