Robert Pattinson On R-Patz Nickname: 'I Want To Strangle Whoever Invented It'

Sorry R-Patz..

Beware the wrath of R-Patz, for the seemingly mild-mannered actor has saved his hatred for the inventor of his tabloid moniker.

The Twilight hunk is not a fan of his nick name and is sick of spotting it in movie reviews for his new film Cosmopolis and reports about his career.

Robert Pattinson told The Guardian: "When I got this part, every single article that came out was 'R-Patz's struggle for credibility!'; I don't understand who invented that thing, 'R-Patz', I want to strangle them.

"But once you've made that step, everything afterwards is not like, 'R-Patz's continuing struggle for credibility!' You've got to come up with something else, so it gets a little bit easier."

R-Patz, errr, Robert admits he's obsessed with reading critics' opinions of his post-Twilight career - especially the scathing reviews.

He added: "I don't really know how accepted I am. Nothing ever matters to me apart from the people with negative opinions. That's literally it. That always drives me on to the next thing. It's funny, you just focus on them and then the next movie. That's the only thing you're thinking about when it comes out."

The 26-year-old isn't the first person to admit they hate their J.Lo-style nickname - Scarlett Johansson despises being called ScarJo.

She raged: "It's a laziness. People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre. Cate Blanchett is not, like, CaBla. Why is that? Why do I have to get stuck? If I hear somebody say that, I know I don't know them at all."
