Jo Bryant was diagnosed with Cardiac Sarcoma, a rare form of heart cancer in February 2011. After undergoing weeks of gruelling chemotherapy and open heart surgery, she was told she was in "complete remission"

Although Jo thought the worst was behind her, in February 2012 she was given months to live.

On her blog 'Tales from the heart' she writes:

"On February 17th 2012, aged 29 years old, the doctors finally gave up on me. I will not give up on myself and that is my promise to you all."

"I'm hoping to fix myself through one of the many alternative things I'm going to try" she told the BBC, explaining how she had tried vitamin C injections, hypothermia treatments and oxygen therapy.

She says the photos are not only "an amazing opportunity to raise awareness for Sarcoma" but also wants to "stress the importance of not giving up when the GPs are refusing to listen."

She writes: "For the last 10 years, wherever I have lived, a little book of quotes has stood at the end of my bed. For the last 13 months the page has been stuck on this quote:

"'I grumbled because I had no shoes, and then I met a man that had no feet.' It couldn’t sum up more the approach I take to my illness - no matter what you are going through, there is ALWAYS someone out there worse off than you."
