But now she's bounced back and despite being happily single, the star admits she dreams of a happy ever after.
She tells the Sunday Mirror: "I haven't stopped believing in marriage just because of what I went through. I definitely still believe in what it stands for. I hope there will be a fairytale ending for me... but who knows?"
The Fight For This Love hitmaker also proved her commitment to marriage by calling for same-sex unions to be made legal.
She told Gaydar radio: "Marriage is far more than a man and a woman, you know. It's a bond for life and whether you're gay or straight or whatever, it makes no difference to being married. What marriage stands for is that you love that person."
