Jim Carrey Quits 'Dumb And Dumber' Sequel: Should The Film Still Be Made? (VOTE)

Carrey Quits 'Dumb And Dumber' Sequel: Should The Show Go On?

Jim Carrey has quit the Dumb And Dumber sequel, leaving the future of the film uncertain.

Directors the Farrelly brothers confirmed in March this year that Jim and Jeff Daniels had signed up to star as dopey friends Harry and Lloyd in a sequel to their 1994 comedy, to be titled Dumb And Dumber To.

But Jim has confirmed in a statement issued by his publicist to ET Online that he has left the project.

Jim added: "I would have thought Dumb And Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."

Sources claim The Bruce Almighty star had become increasingly frustrated by producers New Line and Warner Brothers, as he felt they showed a lack of interest in the project.

The future of Dumb And Dumber To, which Peter Farrelly said he and brother Bobby planned to start shooting in the autumn, is now unknown.

Jim will next be seen opposite Steve Carrell in New Line and Warner Brothers' The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, a comedy about rival magicians, due out next year.
