As shaving injuries go, it's one of the most unusual I've ever clapped eyes on but that's the reason Simon Cowell (or a source at least) is giving for that curious plaster behind his ear.
Hmmm.
The music mogul - who is no stranger to the odd Botox injection - was spotted with the plaster behind his lughole as he took a drive down Sunset Boulevard in his vintage, convertible Ford Bronco jeep.
But a source close to the X Factor USA judge - who has missed recent auditions for the show after being struck down with Bronchitis - said the star hasn't gone under the knife.
"He accidentally cut himself," the source told MailOnline.
Aaaah yes, that annoying bit of hair that grows directly behind the ears. Always a tricky procedure trying to shave that bit.
Unless he was climbing the walls after lying in his sick bed for a few days and had bit of a Van Gogh moment.
Either way, we're glad to see he's on the mend. Now Si, get back to your X Factor seat before Louis gets too comfortable.
