A 10-year-old schoolboy has been given a 12-month referral order after he pleaded guilty to attacking two female teachers at his school.
The pupil, from St Mary Cray in Orpington, Bromley, caused one teacher to lose consciousness and left another needing reconstruction surgery on her knee.
Bromley Youth Court heard how the boy assaulted the two teachers, both in their fifties, in February. The child became "angry" after teachers confiscated a coin from him because he was making a scraping noise by dragging it along a desk.
The court heard how the boy's behaviour escalated and he ran into the corridor and started to punch walls and doors, local Bromley paper the News Shopper reported.
Members of staff tried to escort him back to the classroom when the pupil headbutted a teacher, causing her to suffer concussion. He then kicked another teacher below the knee, making a "cracking noise". The teacher "fell to the ground in a considerable amount of pain" and later needed an operation on her knee.
Both women were taken to a nearby hospital in ambulances.
Despite previously denying both charges, the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, changed his plea to guilty on both counts of causing actual bodily harm and unlawful wounding.
District Judge Robert Ede told the boy: "I want you to understand how serious an injury can be caused by a kick.
"You intended to hurt (both teachers) and have to take responsibility for that.
"You took your anger out on them and made them suffer because you were suffering and that's wrong."
At the time of the attack, a source told The Sunpolice officers were "amazed" when they discovered the suspect was only 10.
"It is a truly extraordinary thing to happen and makes you wonder what the world is coming to."
In its most recent Ofsted report, the school was described as a "safe school" with a "high level of health and safety".
