Jack Osbourne Sacked For Having MS

Jack Osbourne claims he was fired from a US show after they discovered he was suffering from multiple sclerosis.

The TV star announced he was suffering from the condition last Sunday, revealing at one point he lost 60% vision in his right eye.

And he dropped a further bombshell when he appeared on his mother Sharon's The Talk series in America, claiming he was dropped from an unnamed reality series over fears about his diagnosis.

He said: "I had just booked a job right when I got diagnosed and unfortunately the company that hired me didn't think I could actually perform the job. Out of everything, that's what ticked me off the most, because it's like, 'Don't tell me what I can and cannot do!'"

And his furious mother revealed the company fired him via email.

She tweeted, "They said he was a liability and were so personable, sent an email to let us know."

Despite the career setback, Jack is confident he will win his battle against multiple sclerosis thanks to medical advances.

He told Piers Morgan's CNN show: "I've been told by all my doctors that if you are going to get MS, now is the best time to have it. There are, I think, two or three new drugs coming out within the next six months. I do believe there will be a solution in sight in my lifetime."

Jack has all my sympathy for having MS but how much of this story can we believe? Surely not for more sympathy and publicity.

It's sad when anyone loses a job but it's not like he isn't going to be able to pay his mortgage, feed his family or pay his bills like the ordinary guy so all, in all, my sympathy lies with the average joe.

He would have been uninsurarable. It is obvious why they dropped him. He is a whinger who cannot see reason. He is not the first or only person to be given the news they have MS. I sympathise with his plight but he has the cushion of lots of money, media coverage every time he goes to the loo, the best clinicians and medication money can buy and a prattling harridan of a mother who will be berating all and sundry with her "special son's" illness till doomsday! So called "celebs" only ever discover empathy for sick peole when they or one of theirs is discovered with an illness or disease then it becomes the most important thing in the world. Never a case of dealing with it with the quiet dignity and resolve the average person does, no let's pretend we are on a mission for EVERYONE with this newly discovered illness our son has. Bit like Bono, Macca et al with fortunes in excess of £700 million. Money they can never ever spend in a lifetime prattling on about rain forests and starving kids, if they all gave away just half of their fortunes they would make a huge dent in the misery they go on about AND hardly notice it as it would be written off as a tax loss.There's more but I simply can't be bothered, I have ranted enough, happy face back on!

..Just to keep up their high profiles when they're 'resting' (in between jobs) these holier-than-thou celebs love to make us mere mortals feel guilty by putting on their sad face, cosying up to some starving kid from Africa, say, and pleading to 'us' (not them dipping into THEIR accountS) to send them some monies out of our already strangled wallets/purses!!?
Love the Bill Gates angle that he and his missus give half of their fortune away (the interest alone is more than I'll probably ever earn in my lifetime?!)... but as for the rest of these hard-done-by celebs (pfft!), who do they think they're trying to kid??
Even when a celeb gets a disease (like you said), or has a kid, or goes through some traumatic event in their insular worlds, they think it's good to tell 'us' what they're going through, like it's the first time it's happened in the entire existence of this world??!
Yeah, coz that's really gonna make us identify with you now, and forgive the years of crap that you hoodwinked us with through your career (bad Acting, singing, attitude, etc).
They only become 'normal' when they discover that money and 'fame' cannot solve everything they throw at!!
Just do us all a favour and keep your crap to yourself, friends & family... coz... WE DO NOT CARE!!! :-)

hang on the employer did the right thing. Someone tells you they are sick you employ them they get injured guess where the law suits going.and with a mum like his do you doubt it. Further he does physical challenge type shows ( lets face it they arent going to be mental challenges) he says he lost part of his eyesight etc you would need to have a deathwish to employ him.

MS affects people in different ways, I have two friends, one has managed to work all through her condition (she's 55 now), the other has had to give up her nursing career and has been on crutches for years. My friend's mother had it and was totally disabled and using a wheelchair for most of her life until the illness killed her.
Let's hope Jack is not so badly affected, as he said, there are treatments out there now.
How cruel of the production company to fire him though, some people have no compassion.
This young man has battled addiction and got his life together and has just become a father. I wish him well.

I found him the least interesting person in the documentary his family made. I still wish him well though.

Well it was a grave mistake on their part if they employed him knowing he was crap ! He cant have been unknown to them originally as he is hardly an unknown they were taking a chance on .

Have a mate who having discovered he had MS cycled round South Africa for charity. Hane another friend and she is more or less crippled with it and uses a buggy to get about.

Putting everything in perspective, I am sorry to hear of your condition, and hope you will find a way “We're (you're) going through changes" to quote a familiar verse. Perhaps a rewrite and donate the proceeds to MS charities to help raise awareness of the debilitating condition ?

Interesting to see this happen to celebrities too. Maybe it will highlight this problem and make people more aware of how employers actually operate.

Does the fact that he has wealth (or at least his parents)? Does it matter his parents are famous and he had his 5 minutes of fame? At the end of the day, he a young man who has feelings, a young father who has been dealt a pretty rough hand. Lets leave him alone now.
