Here are a couple of things you might want to bring next time you hit the beach: a swingball set, a volleyball net, a football, a frisbee and an industrial digger and a massive roll of fabric.

Why an industrial digger and a massive roll of fabric? Well, as you can see from this exceptionally fun video above, it turns out holding onto a giant roll of wet cloth as you're spun around and around and around by a Caterpiller 323D is really rather smile-enducing.

Our next suggestion? Taking bulldozers and getting them to dance for our pleasure on the sands. Can somebody get on this? Thanks awfully.

    Punalu'u Beach, also known as Black Sand Beach, is composed of black basalt sand, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punaluu_Beach" target="_hplink">formed</a> from volcanic lava. Many <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/30/13-endangered-animals-of_n_513650.html" target="_hplink">endangered species</a> are known to frequent the beach, including Hawksbill Turtles and Monk Seals.

  • Elafonisos Island, Greece

    Elafonisos Island was once a <a href="http://www.greecetravel.com/peloponessos/elafonisos/index.htm" target="_hplink">peninsula</a>, so the land that separates it from the Peloponnese is not very far beneath the surface, giving the waters their striking blue color. The population is scarcely over <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elafonisos" target="_hplink">300</a> in the winter, but the height of summer can bring more than 3,000 tourist visitors a day.

  • Phi Phi, Thailand

    The Phi Phi Islands surged in popularity when its second largest island, Ko Phi Phi Lee, was used for the location of the film, <em>The Beach</em>. Unfortunately, the tsunami of December 2004 <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phi_Phi_Islands" target="_hplink">destroyed</a> nearly all of the main island, most of which has now been restored.
