Joey Barton has been stripped of the Queens Park Rangers captaincy and fined six weeks' wages by the Premier League club.
The 29-year-old will also miss the Rs' pre-season tour of Asia following his sending off and subsequent conduct in the final game of the season away at Manchester City.
Barton was suspended 12 matches and fined £75,000 after two charges of violent conduct were proven against him.
He was red carded for elbowing Carlos Tevez during the Rs' 3-2 Premier League loss at the Etihad Stadium, before he kicked Sergio Aguero and had to be manhandled off the pitch.
Barton typically used Twitter to have his say on the matter, where he appeared penitent for his behaviour in the May match.
A QPR statement read: "Following a full internal investigation, Queens Park Rangers Football Club can confirm Joey Barton has been fined six weeks' wages and will no longer be club captain.
"The 29 year-old midfielder will also be absent from the club's pre-season tour of Asia in July."

Slaps a 15-year-old Everton fan at City's team hotel in Bangkok whilst on pre-season tour. Fined eight weeks' wages by the club after being found guilty of gross misconduct. Agrees to undertake a programme of rehabilitation.

Arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage in an incident involving a taxi driver. He is bailed until May pending further inquiries.

Suspended by City for the rest of the season after repeatedly punching Ousmane Dabo - even whilst unconscious - which leaves his team-mate needing hospital treatment.

Appears at Trafford magistrates court to answer a charge of assault on Dabo. He however indicates he will plead not guilty at a full trial.

Having been arrested in Liverpool city centre after a late-night incident, he is later charged with common assault and affray.

JULY 2008
Receives four-month suspended sentence for assaulting Dabo, he is then charged with violent conduct by the FA over the incident, which he admits. He is banned for 12 matches – six of which are suspended – and fined £25,000 for the attack.

After a red card against Liverpool for a late challenge on Xabi Alonso, he is involved in a row with Newcastle United manager Alan Shearer and is suspended until further notice by the club.
NOVEMBER 2010
Banned for violent conduct by the FA after punching the Blackburn Rovers player Morten Gamst Pedersen in the stomach.
