George Michael is celebrating muchly today.

Firstly, it's exactly 30 years to the day since he and his Wham! comrade Andrew Ridgeley first stormed the charts in 1982 with Wham Rap.

And, just as importantly, he is debuting his first new music since his dangerous battle with pneumonia meant he had to abandon his world tour late last year.

The lyrics of the song, White Light, are clear references to the singer's ill health, his gratitude to the doctors who looked after him, and his fresh exhilaration in being back on his feet, and in the studio. HAVE A LISTEN ABOVE - official video coming soon.

George Michael has already said that he is giving 1000 concert tickets to the hospital staff who nursed him back to health in hospital in Austria, where he was taken ill.

No doubt they'll be tapping their feet to this.
