Barach Bandavad Arrested By Police On Suspicion Of Murdering Bristol Woman

A man wanted in connection with the murder of a woman in Bristol has been arrested by police.

Detectives made a public appeal for help in a bid to trace Barach Bandavad, 35, following an incident at an address in Highbury Road, Horfield.

Avon and Somerset Police said the suspect was located in the Southmead area of the city overnight and arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody, the force added.

The female victim, who is aged in her 50s but yet to be named, was discovered following an incident at the property at around midday yesterday. Forensic examinations have been taking place at the address.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Crisp, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "This was a tragic and isolated incident in which a woman has needlessly lost her life."
