Obviously, off-screen, it's all been a bit of a roller-coaster ride for Mr Cruise in that regard - with his seemingly fairytale pairings with Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and now Katie Holmes - all ending in splits of varying amicability.
