London Olympics 2012: Danny Boyle Apologises For Opening Ceremony Details Being Leaked

Sorry About Olympic Ceremony 'Leaks'

Filmmaker Danny Boyle has apologised after top-secret details from his upcoming London Olympics spectacular leaked.

The Slumdog Millionaire director and artistic director of the opening ceremony on 27 July, has urged the 10,000 volunteers participating in the show to "stay virtuous" after spoilers emerged.

In an email, Boyle explains, "Many of you have been dismayed by the media scrutiny on the show. I am sorry that, despite our best efforts, we appear to be unable to stop these stories appearing in the press."

The Oscar winner revealed plans for a "British countryside" theme at a press conference last month, but subsequent U.K. newspaper reports have included unsanctioned information about the much-anticipated event.

Cast and crew members were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before joining rehearsals.

Danny Boyle's 86 track playlist for the opening ceremony was one of the things that was reportedly leaked. According to The Sun, it featured songs by the Sex Pistols and the EastEnders theme tune.
