Footage of a German fan crying that was beamed to worldwide television audiences after Italy took a 2-0 lead in the Euro 2012 semi-final was not live.
The female in question, referred to only as Andrea from Dusseldorf, actually shed tears during Germany's national anthem, rather than after Mario Balotelli had doubled the Italians' lead.
News of Uefa's manipulation of the timeframe came after an investigation by German broadcaster ARD, since friends of Andrea established she had not cried when television pictures implied she had.

Uefa also showed shots of Mannschaft coach Joachim Loew jestingly knocking a ball from under a ballboy’s arm during the group match with Holland, when it had actually occurred prior to kick-off.
ARD's Euro 2012 Euro 2012 chief editor Joerg Schoenenborn said: "Any form of censorship or manipulation is not acceptable for us. That’s why we clearly told Uefa that the German public expects coverage to be live when it says it’s live."
