Israeli Border Guard 'Filmed Kicking Palestinian Child' (VIDEO)

A video which appears to show an Israeli Border Guard kicking a Palestinian child has been released by a human rights group.

The incident is said to have taken place on June 29 near the Tomb of the Patriarchs, in Hebron’s H2 area, the Israeli Information Centre for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (B’Tselem) said.

The child is heard crying as he is dragged to the ground, and the clip sees a second officer approach and deliver a kick to the weeping boy.

He has been named as nine-year-old Abd a-Rahman Buqran and there is no indication as to what, if anything occurred before the incident.

The Jerusalem Post reports a large rise in the number of rock-throwing incidents in the Hebron area in recent weeks.

It said: “Some in the Border Police suspect that cameramen get into position and start filming after children throw rocks at police. Irrespective of the rock-throwing, however, the sources believe there is no justification for the act captured on film.”

The paper added the incident was being regarded with “great severity” and that the Border Police “condemns the police conduct as contrary to its values.”

It added the clip “does not represent the work of Border Police for Israel’s security.”
