Remembering Amy Winehouse One Year After Her Death: Tribute By Johan Andresson Goes On Display At Camden Underground Station

Remembering Amy: Famous Portrait Goes On Display In Underground

It doesn’t feel like a whole year since the world heard the sad news of Amy Winehouse’s death, but this month it will be.

In order to pay tribute to the singer, an area of London’s tube network has been decorated with the special billboard by Johan Andersson.

The Swedish aritst’s portrait, which depicts a pensive and slightly vunerable-looking Winehouse dashed with small flecks of colour, became iconic when it was first shown two weeks after she died of alcohol poisoning aged just 27.

The billboard will remain on display until 12 July at Camden Tube station – the area of London most synonymous with Winehouse who regularly performed in the region’s many pubs and venues.
