Missing Stone Roses Fan Found Dead

The body of a man who went missing following a reunion concert of The Stone Roses has been found in a canal.

Christopher Brahney, 22, had not been seen since attending the show at Heaton Park, Manchester, on Friday 29 June.

Last week the band issued a statement through Greater Manchester Police asking for help with the appeal and said their thoughts were with Mr Brahney's family.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police can confirm that the body found in a canal in Salford this morning is that of missing 22-year-old Christopher Brahney.

"Shortly before 9.35am, police received a report of a body in the Manchester Ship Canal, near to Media City, Salford Quays.

"Christopher was last seen by friends at about 11.30pm on Friday June 29 when he was at The Stone Roses concert in Heaton Park, Manchester.

"A post-mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow."
