A heavily pregnant woman found herself giving birth on a street pavement after becoming overcome with the urge to push as she hurried to hospital.
The unidentified woman and her husband were en route to a maternity ward in Guangzhou, the capital of southeast China’s Guangdong Province, when her baby decided to make a sudden appearance.

The father-to-be dashed into a nearby dental surgery appealing for help, but the staff were unable to assist.
They did however supply water and towels and called an ambulance as he rolled up his sleeves and prepared to deliver his own child.
According to Rex news the story had a happy ending, with mother and child both well and recovering in hospital.
