Rotten Tomatoes, the review-aggregating website, has suspended comments on their The Dark Knight Rises review on the site after some critics have received death threats.

Critics who have not looked favourably on Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy finale have been subjected to profane and threatening remarks, reports the Daily Mail.

IndieWire reports that critic Marshall Fine, who had the misfortune of publishing the first negative review of The Dark Knight Rises to appear on Rotten Tomatoes, received a staggering 460 comments.

Some commenters quoted death threats from the film and one comment, since removed, kindly requested Fine "die in a fire".

The Dark Knight Rises currently has an 87 percent positive review rating on the site and so far Nolan's Batman finale has lived up to its deafening hype.
