Elijah Wood At Comic-Con: Actor Disguised Himself In Batman Mask To Avoid Fans

Elijah Wood's Not-So-Cunning Disguise From Fans

Actor Elijah Wood attempted to avoid crowds of fans at Comic-Con in San Diego, California last weekend by walking around the sci-fi convention wearing a Batman mask.

The Lord of the Rings star was at the event to promote new projects and decided it was high time he actually took to the floor to mingle with fans after attending Comic-Con for a decade and never getting the chance.

But his cowl didn't really work for him - and devotees quickly realised it was just Wood in a mask.

He says, "I was walking around and I noticed that initially I was free and clear; I was walking, looking at things... and then I started hearing rumblings as I'm walking."

But the actor admits his fans were respectful - because they realised there was a reason he was wearing a mask.

He adds, "They were not coming up to me. Because I had the mask on and they thought they'll be respectful of my privacy. Clearly I had it on because I wanna be incognito."
