Sun Journo Arrested In Computer Hacking Probe

A journalist from The Sun newspaper has been arrested by police in connection with alleged breaches of privacy.

The man - claimed to be reporter Rhodri Phillips - was taken in on Thursday morning by officers from Operation Tuleta, which is investigating computer hacking allegations and other privacy offences.

The reporter is the seventh person to be arrested by Operation Tuleta police, which was set up in conjunction with Operations Weeting and Elveden.

So far, 24 people have been arrested as part of the phone-hacking inquiry, Operation Weeting, and 41 as part of an investigation into alleged corrupt payments to officials, Operation Elveden.

A spokeswoman from News International said: "We can confirm a journalist from The Sun was arrested this morning," while it has reported that an internal News International email confirmed the man was Phillips.

Scotland Yard said they were releasing no more details for "operational reasons".

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Officers from Operation Tuleta, the investigation into criminal breaches of privacy which is being carried out in conjunction with Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) phone-hacking inquiries, arrested one man at his home in north London at approximately 6.30am."
